When Velma Laverna (Brown) Bolton was born on January 26, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee, her father, Sullivan, was 49 and her mother, Sallie Ann was 42. She was the youngest of 10 siblings.
She was married to Levester Bolton (born May 23, 1931), who passed on September 10, 1977 in Muskegon, Michigan at the age of 46.
Velma lived in Shelby County Tennessee.
Her 5 children (Joyce, Leonard, Jeffery Keith, Cynthia Lynne and Elanese) love and miss her dearly since her untimely passing on February 25, 1988.

I never got the chance to meet Grandma Velma. She passed away when I was just born. I wished I'd known her, but I know she watches over us. My cousin,Victoria (Aunt Elanese's daughter,) and I both share her middle name: Laverna. It is my favorite part of my name and so unique.
